Oddly enough I switched the order in my fashion-lust process in the case of the Jonathan Kelsey for Mulberry shoes in that I physically saw them first back in February and now that they're available to buy on their very own cute microsite, I've fallen in love with them even more. Namely because the site has oddly fascinating three-part flipbook annimation that inter-changes the various Mulberry AW08-9 head, body and shoes, making the shoes very very enlarged to give the impression that one might do very well playing dress-up in these shoes. In reality though the five styles of shoes aren't shoe-candy in the sense that they're extraordinarily weird.... a riding boot, an ankle boot, a cropped bootie, a platform pump and a very very practical flat lace-up. However, it's the colours and the materials that really propel the shapes to something less likely to be found elsewhere....the fuschia, the gunmetal, the purple, the chocolate and then with suede and patent thrown into the mix...it is all coming together into the shoe equivalent of a Cadbury's box of chocs.
That isn't a dig at the shoes because I'm a regular Cadbury's muncher and since I've forced myself to go along with this analogy, I'll continue and venture to say that something like the brogues for instance would also get a similar level of regular wear.... just need to cough up the £325 for them as opposed to the £3.09 for a 227g box.
