I seem to be obsessed with wearing what most would consider too 'editorial' or are in fact merely styling tools as opposed to things for everyday practical wear. So when Gloved Up, who have provided a lot of editorials with interesting armwear (so inventive are they with the sort of gloves they do that the word ‘armwear’ needs to apply as opposed to just plain ‘gloves’) sent me a link to their press samples (a lot of which are now on sale to the public too...), I had to drool and say ‘I want that one, that one and that one’.
Getting onboard the sheer sheer train, they have a selection of arm length gloves in plain and dye effects to sheer frilly ickle gloves. I love the effect the PVC and sheer material has when contrasted with each other in one glove. In addition they have also gone into legging territory but of course these aren’t your run of the mill leggings. They’re sheer with frilly hems. If they didn’t end at that awkward part of the leg which exposes my not so perfect calves, I’d be snapping them up and layering them under dramatic skater skirts. Ah forget it. I’ll just risk the chunky calf effect...
PVC leggings also come with extra frilly detailing at the butt. Now, highlighting the arse with something shiny and squeaky doesn’t seem too smart but I’m constantly surprised by how slimming an effect shiny black materials can have so I’ll keep an open mind about these....
Then there’s a new line of accessories which I saw in person but couldn’t believe they were fashioned out of recycled plastic bags and binliners.... the effect is sort of a textured, nubby plastic and though I’m sadly not participating in the upcoming Met Costume Ball themed around Superheroes, a black mask to have hanging about is definitely in order.
Only thing is I think they now need a name change with all the stuff on top of their wonderful gloves...
