They slide with ease as these 'human animals' are adorned with Hungarian gold leather and silk threads from Prague. Look how the creature is weighed down by the metres of long black hair. We are looking at a new species discovery here, born from Iris Van Herpen's imagination which was shaped at the Fashion Academy in Arnhem and honed further by internships at Alexander McQueen. These creatures all form part of Iris's AW07-8 offspring called 'Future Fragility'. See how they don't move in a vigorous way but with the vulnerability of newborn fashion. The wings of silk thread take flight but only hesitantly. However, with all the fragility present, we can certainly observe the future that lays ahead and perhaps Herpen will breed a different species for her next collection...
