THAT jacket (*she says whilst pointing her fingers*)
Yes, I know Antonin Tron has been made Facehunter catty fodder and yes, this particular jacket has gotten gasps from everyone and anyone and yes, it is menswear of the most elegant kind (see the rest of his collection). Call me a sad hack of a predictable Antwerp-Graduate lover but I just can't shake this jacket off my head. I just won't. Whatever image I see of it makes me wonder whether an Antonin Tron will walk into my life and hand me some form of multi-shaped gold studded glory.
THAT Facehunter pic with fellow Antwerp grad Romain Brau modelling the jacket...
The Antwerp graduate show shots...
From this month's new designers Dazed shoot, shot by Daniel Sannwald and styled by Katie Shillingford and Robbie Spencer...
Until then, only really poor, really bad Photoshopping will do. It befits a hack like myself, don't you think?

Dear Susie,
That jacket is terrible.
Sincerely,
The Getting Older Man

the metallic is amazing! i like how all the parts of it are different sizes. it gives it some volume and texture.
Posted by: lee jones | 17 November 2008 at 19:08
Oh that is stunning, I love it...I need it!
Posted by: Luxe. | 17 November 2008 at 19:14
I would guess that when your last name is Tron you would feel extra compelled to create futuristic/robotic garb...hee

I just laughed out loud (yes, I'm officially too old to 'lol'). You're cute. And you're probably inspiring a whole interactive polyvore-esq movement with those skills. x

Dear Susie,
I agree with The Getting Older Man, that jacket is terrible.
So terrible it's wonderful.
Sincerely,
LJ

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I'd never seen that jacket before now. It's the best item of Fantasticalism in Menswear that I've ever seen.

If Ghesquière had made this jacket everyone would be going gaga over it. I am with you and am always a big fan of Antwerp graduates. This would be an epic addition to your closet that both you and your old man could wear for sure.

Hi Susie
I can't get that jacket out of my mind! It made my day when I first saw it. WANT IT SO BAD.
Toodles

It's so striking; I can see why you haven't been able to get it out of your head!

that jacket is really incredible, as are your photoshop skills.
in other news, I am really really looking forward to the new issue of Dazed! i need something to wake me up and shake me and i think thatll do the trick.

I was one of the many who saw this and gasped... I love it, ahhh.
Posted by: Shen-Shen | 17 November 2008 at 20:43
Fooking hell, THAT jacket is something else!! it's orgasmic. I'm afraid photoshopping just won't cut it. Dang.

WOW! That jacket looks perfect on you! so stunning
Posted by: a la mode | 17 November 2008 at 21:07
It's an amazing glorious jacket and I can imagine how you feel about it.
Posted by: Miss Glitzy | 17 November 2008 at 21:39
The jacket is awesome. But I am sure I won't have the guts to wear it!
Posted by: Allure | 17 November 2008 at 21:50
It looks like he's been vomited on by a leprechaun.
You know, if leprechauns ate their gold.
I admit that is a flawed analogy.

When I first saw that jacket my jaw dropped, it is amazing as in a work of art, almost sculptural. I could never wear it nevertheless...

Hi!
That jacket is so beautifull! In a loud, shouting in your face kind of way! It's so georgous, i love gold and this is the extreme!
And you look just as amazing in it as the guys!

I just started reading your blog, but I couldn't resist commenting when I saw this.
I love this jacket. I feel like it should be in some futuristic production of Hamlet, or something.
Though I don't know if I would ever wear it.
Posted by: truepenny | 17 November 2008 at 22:18
Lol you look especially regal in that picture
Posted by: Cas Ruffin | 17 November 2008 at 23:21
I love it and it is very cool but at least you can stroke your Toga jacket instead of that one.

Haha, I love your Photoshoppin'.. it suits you too! I've also been obsessed with that jacket since seeing the Facehunter shot .. I did consider a DIY moment, but I can't find anywhere that sells large, flat gold studs.. and the amount of time it must take to attach them all..
BTW
Thanks so much for adding Hapsical to your links.. I didn't thank you before, but I'm so grateful :)

Jaw-dropping! Love it.
Posted by: WendyB | 17 November 2008 at 23:56
It looks perfect on you! It also makes me want to write a story about a futuristic space-dwelling dandy who builds all of his clothing out of old spaceship parts.
Posted by: Meg | 18 November 2008 at 00:21
nice photoshop work. :P
I like it no matter what others say.
Posted by: Songy | 18 November 2008 at 02:56
It fits perfectly with you. I can totally imagine you (not in a photoshopped way) in it! :)

adorable
Posted by: horst | 18 November 2008 at 10:02
Hehe, your photoshopping is very amusing :)
Sad that I've never seen this stuff actually worn in Antwerp though. They could easily promote their designs by just wearing them on the streets here, the jacket is certainly an eye-catcher.

maybe it's because i'm hungry... but that jacket looks like it's covered in gold wrapped chocolates, and i want to eat them.
sick. very sick.
it's a gorgeous jacket though.

that photo has been my most favorite from the paris shows. the jacket is remarkable. i would wear it since i like really directional design. in fact hehe i made it my wallpaper(the closest ill ever get to have one). love your blog btw!:) because of it i get to see talented up and coming designers. love your style too!

At first i thought that jacket was too flashy (i've never been a fan of gold anything) but then it grew on me masses as i read down the post btw that photoshop photo is hilarious. i think if i ever got to wear such a thing on my own terms i would put it with something completely different, like a seersucker suit just to play off the intense futurism (Ghesquire eat your heart out) and the old school seersucker. either way it would be sooo much fun although im guessing its quiet a heavy piece to wear, what are the metalic pieces made out of?
Posted by: Brandon | 18 November 2008 at 17:30
hi susie the jacket is bloody genius!it is a work of art.
let is shine and burn into the retinas of those who oppose it's existence.;)
Posted by: isuka | 19 November 2008 at 01:52
maybe they will send you the jacket now ;)
thanks for IDing the jacket, my 1st guess would have been balenciaga. will look into this designer.
