I've been on the trail of thought of old biddies since the most interesting dressed people I saw over the weekend were all over 50. So when I came across Advanced Style, a streetstyle blog that is "proof from the wizened and silver-haired set that personal style advances with age", I thought to myself that I had found my OAP style fix.
Every time I see someone elderly rocking a barmy/beautiful outfit I do think that most people would disregard them as funny farm material. But then put the same outfit on a skinnier, twenty something with long heavy-fringed hair and a pair of Boots reading glasses and people would be swooning. Put them on Facehunter riding a bicycle and there'd be cries for them to start a personal style blog. Alas, there's almost never any point in asking them where they got their wonderful garms from as they'd either be out of production or they might not remember.
I'm hoping a Londoner will follow in Advanced Style's footsteps. There are tons of mixed patterns, loud earrings, terribly smart shoes and plenty of hats to be found on the elderly here, seen wandering up and down the aisles of Tescos.
