No I haven't split my trousers or done something disastrous in the trouser area... I'm simply noting the fact that for two days in a row, I've worn...*gasp* trousers. For those of you not in the know, me and trousers have a love/hate thing going on. We embrace each other when the trousers in question are perfectly formed and/or are quite strange/unique. Otherwise, mundane, plain trews are just a pain to try on and a bore to wear.
Ok, yesterday I was cheating. There is a grey tutu over the Raf Simons trews but still, the sweatshirt on the top could have morphed into a skirt to be a poofy tunic so I'd still count that as trouser wearing. The Pierre Hardy x Louise Goldin shoes were apt as it was the day of the stupendously cool Louise Goldin show. French blogging royalty Garance and Geraldine are in town (it's so odd seeing them in Old Blighty...) and they very kindly snapped me (yes I am a leacher of other people's great photography skills whilst not being able to develop my own...)...
Today, I changed three or four times, beginning with a dress, then adding these trews and in the end shedding away the dress to opt for these Preen trousers and the very comfy Tristan Blair wedges. The zipper collar is also NOT at all heavy (to those that asked...) and I even added more weight with some Paraphernalia necklaces.
By the by, I head these posts with London Fashion Week, though the reality is I've barely been to any shows but instead have had to enjoy fashion week secondhand through other people's pictures and text... it's ok... I keep telling myself that in about a week's time I'm going to be all over Paris like a messy, dishevelled rash that just won't go away, so it's fine.
**EDIT** Lovely Geraldine has just put her pics up and has captured my cheesy smile... I know people are far preferring the 'slicker' second outfit....but I do so love the self-created Aladdin pants effect with the Raf Simons trews... by far my favourite trews of the year (say it with me..elasticated waists are GOOOOD!)

you look amazing as usual! hah, i've spoted you earlier on garance also...great photo :)

Same goes for me, I feel less extraordinary in pants than in skirts or dresses. It's always hard for me to have a "stand out Look" with ordinary pants. But you my dear, you're looking great with both pants. I def need some leather trousers as well.
Posted by: Fruchtzwerg | 17 September 2008 at 18:45
The second look is very chic,it is my favorite at the moment. You have such a good taste.
Is is cold already in England?
Posted by: Zori | 17 September 2008 at 18:48
Perhaps you will have some answers - Charlie ordered a necklace from Paraphernalia and they still have not arrived.
Lovely outfits btw.
Posted by: Thom Wong | 17 September 2008 at 18:59
leave it to you to come up with trouser outfits that are most definitely unpredictable. awesome stuff!
Posted by: izzydore | 17 September 2008 at 19:04
That zipper necklace is STUNNING! So is the fur coat!
I gave up pants in May and it's been the best decision ever.
Posted by: Nicola | 17 September 2008 at 19:21
Really amazing outfits!
Posted by: floraposte | 17 September 2008 at 19:23
I love Paraphernalia.
I've been thinking about getting some odd pants, because pants are not really made for curvy girls. I might was well embrace the odd.
Posted by: Jael | 17 September 2008 at 19:35
i'm the opposite, always been a pants girl. I adore the last two looks - the necklaces are !!! and I'd wrestle you for that stole.
Posted by: fashionherald | 17 September 2008 at 20:35
the necklace collection looks like a work of art, i love that outfit! looking very sexy in the enviable preen trousers too :)
Posted by: MHBass | 17 September 2008 at 21:18
Your first photo inspired me to take a look at the blazers at my local salvation army this afternoon (was popping in anyways) and guess what I found. A gorgeous navy blue wool Aquascutum blazer. For $10. I almost fainted.
So thank you very much, and I think you look great in pants and should not fear them!
Posted by: AngieMontreal | 17 September 2008 at 21:29
I like both the trews, they're starkly different, but you really do well with both styles. And that zipper thingy, I've always loved that.
You look happy in your new place.
Posted by: enc | 17 September 2008 at 21:35
I particularly adore that second outfit. Those trousers are, simply put, marvellous!
Posted by: pretty face | 17 September 2008 at 22:18
Love that last look.
Posted by: WendyB | 17 September 2008 at 22:30
i also love your last look. the cropped pants with cropped..jacket? look so good together. you do cropped well:)
Posted by: chrissa | 17 September 2008 at 22:32
I really like that second outfit and I'm still madly coveting those shoes.
Posted by: Dee | 17 September 2008 at 22:35
i have a love/hate relationship with pants as well. i rarely ever wear them even in winter (i live in a place warm enough to wear tights).
also, your few fashion week shows you've attended beats my zero! :)
Posted by: la petite fashionista | 17 September 2008 at 23:56
Both outfits are amazing though I'm not such a fan of the fur coat (no I won't start bombarding you with anti-fur stuff, it's not even the moral stuff because I eat meat and wear leather but I don't like the aesthetic so I'm confused about it so disregard this stuff in parentheses) but I love the necklaces and collar! And petticoat! And wedges!
Posted by: KD | 18 September 2008 at 00:26
you really have a wicked sense of style...so jealous.
Posted by: Nina | 18 September 2008 at 00:41
You look great. The zipper collar adds such a cool punky vibe to your outfit!
Posted by: winnie | 18 September 2008 at 00:49
love all of the outfits! those raf simons trousers are crazy!
Posted by: kirstie | 18 September 2008 at 01:42

Garance is fantastic. I would like to actually learn how it's all done from her if it's all together possible.
I saw really lovely pictures of you in http://blogs.lexpress.fr/cafe-mode/
That's great. How cool.
Posted by: songy | 18 September 2008 at 06:14
Oooh, I really like the second look. It's a riot of delightful textures.
Posted by: The Clothes Horse | 18 September 2008 at 06:25
Ok, so - not to sound strange or anything but... you look a lot like me. Well, at some angles in some photographs anyways. You are the first person I think I can say that about, and I have sisters!
wowwwww
Posted by: Tiffany | 18 September 2008 at 08:17
I like both looks but esp love the second one. The layering of the necklaces, the rolled up trousers, the fur shrug are all perfection!

You're so small!

Very impressed with the top look, you look simply divine Susie....and it's such a cool pic. One of my personal fave Susie B outfits.

I'm totally feeling that tasseled/fluffy black top thingy... my vocabulary fails me
=(...
Posted by: JessZ | 18 September 2008 at 09:55
I love your first outfit, the trousers just blend in with your dress!
I can't do trousers of any kind either although sometimes they do pop up in an outfit here and there.
Posted by: Miss Karen | 18 September 2008 at 10:16
ohhh, there's those pants again *sigh*

i am so in love with those shoes, i'm devoting this weekend to trawling through every store in melbourne to find them or a pair equally as beautiful. love!
Posted by: emily | 18 September 2008 at 12:18
aw... they take such lovely photos... and you my dear look wonderful in trousers... i'm really loving all these outfits!
Posted by: lady coveted | 18 September 2008 at 13:31
Your smile is not cheesy at all, it's absolutely gorgeous!
And I agree with you about being a skirt girl, though your Raf Simons trews kick the arse of every pair I've ever seen.
Posted by: Blue Floppy Hat | 18 September 2008 at 15:53
Oh come on,cheesy? You're gorgeous! But I suppose you wouldn't be the humble, stylish Susie we loved if you realized that.
Posted by: Sarz | 18 September 2008 at 17:10
i personally LOVE the sheer trousers! i like the silhouette in the second outfit too, the shoulders are super cool. btw have you seen the sequins trousers in topshop?

Oh Susie! Your first two shots on the grass are just parfait, they're like they're from an actual magazine shoot! Gorrrrrrrrrrrgeous!x

Whaaaaaat! I love those Preen trousers! they look amazing on you!
I love your blog. I have been posting some streetstyle pics from Cibeles (Madrid's fashion week) if you want to take a look:

ciao!
Posted by: elnotable | 18 September 2008 at 19:26
I am a skirt/dress devotee but the Preen trousers are great.
Posted by: schizodefective | 18 September 2008 at 19:39
I actualy prefer the first outfit so much more--I'm actually kind of obsessed with sheer trousers now because of you! hmm.... have you tried chunky knits for this season yet? i can't wait until you do (if you do). yay textures.
Posted by: arabelle | 18 September 2008 at 20:56
Given you've prompted me out of trews - I'm now loving the Preen ones!
Posted by: Make Do & Mend | 18 September 2008 at 21:44
i should take a cue from you...i'm such a pants oriented girl. it's their simplicity i suppose..but you look brilliant in both outfits. while i love love love the necklaces and fur shrug/vest (?) i simply adore the tutu & aladin pants..+ the jacket fits you so well! gah...i wish i could think up such interesting outfits!
Posted by: eliza | 19 September 2008 at 01:46
awww. your smile may be cheesy it's also so cute. The colours and everything in the first shot have me swooning. I like the first outfit better than the second but the fringed cardi in the second deserves cred too.
Posted by: a dreamer | 19 September 2008 at 04:26
no idea what show it was but i saw aggy in a pair of sheer floral trousers and it made me think of you...
Posted by: tanya | 19 September 2008 at 05:34
I really like the blazer in #1, and would so wear outfit #2 myself. And I love your hairdo in #2.
I actually like wearing pants, they suit me, but have a hard time finding good pairs. So now I'm stuck with jeans if I don't want to go skirt/dress, and that's often too casual for my taste. I should just invest in some decent suit bottoms/man pants. Too bad I'm so short I always have to take them to a tailor to shorten them. The 3/4 pants may be an option for me.

Thanks for showing the pics Susie. You looked terrific. I can't wait to see you in Paris!
Posted by: Géraldine | 19 September 2008 at 08:59
Suzy one day you will be more famous than Karine Roitfeld.
I don't have the same fashion tastes than you, but i like your freedom and your amazing energy.
