Man Zip

There is a reason why I've been a little slow with outfit posts in general.  I physically can't quite get at my clothes as I'm in the process of packing up and moving on.  Yes, I've found a new hovel!  It's a bigger and better hovel but a hovel nonetheless which suits me fine.  Thus Outsapop's zipper collar has been sitting there waiting for me to play around with outfit wise and I haven't yet done a thing with it just because, right now, me moving any of my clothes could involve a whole avalanch toppling on top of my head, denting my ickle ickle brain.  However, that's not to say, nobody is having fun with the collar.  The boyf picked it up and put it over his outfit and I looked at him and raised one eyebrow and said 'Hmm....that ACTUALLY looks quite cool...'.  I gave it a bit of an adjustment and suddenly it's an interestingly detailing peeking out from an outfit.  Perhaps I've immersed myself in too much Colin McDowell in the new issue of 10 Men calling for men to make more of an effort in their appearance.  Perhaps it's the recent arrival of the *yak* manscara and manliner... (actually, that's not a reason whatsoever...I just wanted to point out the ludicrous idea of calling these products such ridiculous sounding names...).  It is yet another piece that is going to the 'Let's be nice and share it' pile of clothing/accessories (we've got to be very specific with piles these days what with the move ant all...).  I do borrow his Marc Jacobs belt enough times so we'll call it even.

your bf is quite an eyecandy even without the accessoires ;-)

As if Manscara is not bad enough I had something plop into my inbox on Friday about Man-lashes! Not as kinky as it sounds... but fake eye lashes for men. No really!

I predict a life-cycle of one season max before the idea is quietly take out back and shot!
Whadda ya reckon?

p.s. Top Blog, love it.

He looks really good! Nice work

oh and for the manliner etc - WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?!?!?!!

Looks really cool on him. I think the 'tough' vibe of the zippers make the collar work for both men and women.

what brand's his cardigan? looks great.
and im not sure about the zip? i mean it looks divine but wouldn't it feel like carrying a heavy dumbbell around your neck??

We were discussing the whole male make up thing yesterday. My friend's boyfriend didn't believe that there was such a thing as man-scara and guy-liner, until we threated to take him to Superdrug to buy them!

charming--I want one, still. (for myself, not the bf...)

I LOVE that zipper collar. It's so so fab and I need to figure out if I can scrape together the money to get one or find the time to make one. And I also LOVE it on the boyf. It's such an interesting detail, and it's not apparent at first what it is but you've just got this sort of metal piece juxtaposing with plaid and a cardi. So interesting and innovative! Please segue into styling Susie....

He does a great job with it. But he does a great job with all his looks. He's sharp.

Your boyf totally rocks the zippy necklace! :D

and yes.."manscara", alongslide "treggings" (UGH) is a crime against the english language...

what a great idea! i must say, it looks very cool on him!

ur bf looks a lil bit like Benjamin Mckenzie who plays Ryan Atwood. lol. has anyone said that to u before?

oh, I love that he put that on! and it looks great too. congrats and good luck with the move.

I thought you´d figure this one out... :) The second zipper necklace I ever made was commissioned by my photographer-friend (a guy). The zippers are unisex. I think it suits your bf well, especially with the cardigan!

Mr. Bubble looks great with the collar.

He rocks it doesn't he?

I knew the zipper collar was a winner. Brilliant piece of detail and so much autre than male make up and tights! although did spot fab guy look in leggings on style de monde the othr day.

I'm loving his cardigan - where's it from? Cx

Ooh! Totally cool. And where I come from, eye-liner and mascara would totally make it more lovely :D

I would actually wear this zipper collar out and can confirm that it's pretty lightweight.
My cardigan is by Omar Kashoura bought from the shop at bluebird last Spring/Summer sale.
That is first time I've had anyone tell me that I look Ben McKensie...lot's of other people, the list is quite diverse and has now got that little bit longer.

Woah, it actually does look good on him!

I think the outfit suits him, haha.
and manliner? yuck.

I don't know what that is, but only Steve could make it work.

And you know already my feelings on the "man" anything.

uhh ... my god, he is soooooo cute!
he rocks!

uhh ... my god he is sooooooooooo cute!

He wears it well! Careful! You might never get that back...

i would totally steal it from you if i were him! :) he looks good!!

Archive Notes

  • As I post so frequently, the archive is organised by week but this blog has been up and running since March 2006 so if you want to read from the ye olde beginning, just keep going back through the weeks or alternatively, go through the archives via Category.

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
