Uniqlo's Wonderful Wang
Well, I had to show some love for my beloved Uniqlo, didn’t I especially when I have counted 12 tops, 6 jumpers, 3 cardigan and 4 skirts from the damn place floating around in my wardrobe with my current obsession being a grey menswear cotton cashmere jumper that is starting to soften up nicely from overwearing.
I ESPECIALLY had to show some love when they have decided to collaborate with Alexander Wang for another round of Designers Invitation Project along with Tim Hamilton and Loden Dager. Alexander Wang is one of those designers which has had the advantage of a great deal of 'talking up' by the press but at least behind that, there lies designs that I absolutely can’t help but love and want to wear. He manages to really sort of distil a certain vibe of New York style into his clothes in a way that is appealing to me.
I ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY had to show the love when I saw these images of the designs that Wang has done for Uniqlo which have surfaced. It’s grey, white and black simple colour blocking that is interestingly done and allows Wang’s effortless style to shine through and yet you still believe that the clothes are still coming from Uniqlo. There will be eight designs in total ranging from £15-£40 I believe and they will be dropping into the UK stores from late May to early June (I think they come a little earlier in the USA). Bagsy me the first black pleated dress in particular.

wow! these are so beautiful! i especially love the last dress. and grey menswear jumper sounds good too.

Absolutely lovely. I would wear them all. So simple yet so striking at the same time. I especially like the one in the middle.

Somehow they remind me of hospital gowns.

These are so lovely!!! Oh I hate that I've moved to the states (and not new york). I have a uniqlo addiction bad, and this makes me miss it so much.

WendyB: Funnily enough, I rather dig hospital frocks!
mgw: We shall have to see whether anybody gets hospitalised in the scram for this stuff when it drops in NYC....especially with a whole city of Wang-lovers!

Oh everything looks so great! I think for the first time in a designer/big store collaboration thing I'm going to tell my job that I'm coming in late and I'm totally gonna go wait in line like a crazy person. Too rad.

awww wow!!id totally forgotten about this collabration, i'll admit i was expecting something a bit more like the rest of alexander wang's collections but the dresses are so simple yet beautiful, i cant wait til they're in store :)

^ How is this *not* like his regular collections? The vest dress is a remake of one he did last spring and he consistently puts out simple silk tank dresses. It is very congruous with his mainline to me.

First I'm hearing about this, and I love it already, but I do not belive there are any Uniqlos in Canada. This depresses me greatly.

I do enjoy a wonderful wang. I particularly like the 2nd design. I wish Uniqlo wasn't so London-based. I want many many things and I bet their Japanese sizing is super weird. Bah, I may chance buying online anyway. Damn you Susie Bubble and your attractive picture postings!
