I love background stories like this, it's so cool to hear the tales behind the clothes! I bet you could write a book (or probably a series) about your entire closet..

Chelsea Rae

I like the first story the best, but that's probably because I've thought of puncturing many of those who have truly angered me with my extra shard stilettos.

Emma

Very, very cool...you never cease to come up with [or well, go thru with] some very fun projects.

My favorite is the little snippet of a conversation and the gold...you can just picture it.

lady coveted

awww that's such a lovely story... perhaps your blog is really just electronic tags on your wardrobe? good luck with your move!

Jael

I blogged the story of my pink dress from Paris earlier this week. I'm trying to get others involved. Love the ruffle one.

Laia

those shoes are AMAZING!

enc

Nice photoessay, Susie. I always enjoy your work.

giancinephile

Brilliant, Susie!

Kudos to you on this one. I feel like I'm reading Lula with this one. Its' very charming and creative. ;)

Kit

this is so cute : )
also strikes me as kind of a romantic exercise (although maybe that wasn't the intention?)
especially heart the one about the shrug.

WendyB

Love it!

mica

Really creative! I like the one about the shrug best too :)

Jeanne

How lovely and clever! I love those shoes, and your photography is stunning! It's always nice to remember the stories behind the clothes -- it also reminds me some of A Dress A Day's Secret Lives of Dresses. Good luck on your move -- I'm planning on making a move in the near future too!

hoyan

eason chan!! gorgeous shoes and stories, susie!

Iheartfashion

I love that store.
Your homage is perfect!

Sabrina

Thanks for the read Susie! The lives of clothes are just as interesting as those of people :)

Anne-Laure

I liked the concept and the images.
Especially the one with the veil.
Thanks for a nice read ;)

Love the shoes!!!!

K

M

all clothes should be this fun.

selina

i just love this! it shuns the thoughts that fashion is shallow, clothes can have meanings and memories too!

dreamecho

thanks for the linkety-link! i appreciate it lots.

your stories are wonderfully creepy/off. love that one about driving the heel into his heart...! (sounds like a good indie horror film if i ever heard one.)

headmistress

love these! a really fun idea... I've always toyed with the idea of little stories about random found things, and this is really neat way of doing it... would be a fascinating display if you got it all up!

rollergirl

Too cool, where do you find the time to do all these creative things! Love the label themselves and the typewritten font too. Sigh...

lady lala

I love those shoes

MySpace Codes

Those shoes are soooo cute!! I love it.

Ike

Very cute. The innuendo in the last one was a bit of a surprise.

The Clothes Horse

I don't know what I love more the items or the stories you built around them...

Giselle

haha, I liked this post alot! I love hearing the stores behind clothes. In fact, I think I love everything about clothes :-P

-Giselle <3<3<3

Jill

That's a really cool way to personalize your clothes, even more that is. I love the second story.

Miss at la Playa

I love that idea :)

shesdressingup

This is such a lovely idea!

Soni

wow, i love the shoes!

K-Line

This post is great, Susie. I love the tags. We should all tag elements of our wardrobe! K

Francesca

this is fabulous! So clever and witty, I wish all clothing tags had these stories printed on them.
On another note, the shoes in the first picture are AMAZING. I was staring at them for a good five minutes without moving.

I hope you'll check out my blog, I really like yours!

eileen

really dig this entry. This would be a great idea for another blog! keep surprising us :)

Christina

Such a cool idea! I enjoyed reading them!

Lauren

I love those shoes! Who made them?

Britt marie

I absolutely love your photos!

diana

That is pretty funny. At first I thought it was a real store that made them all, from where you got all your stuff. But then I realized you made them up and it's kind of a homage. I'm sure more stores will pick this idea up. It is cute.

susie_bubble

The shoes are by Topshop Unique...really old actually!
Thank you everyone for leaving such lovely comments about this post.... some of them were slightly personal tales but heavily disguised of course.... I do think there is something in clothes that goes beyond just the aesthetic appeal of wearing them.... the sentimental value in most of my wardrobe means that I could probably regularly write things about them.... I may just do that if it doesn't bore you to tears...
We shall see!

Helen-LG

Another great concept and done well too. I think were I to have attempted something similar I'd have over-egged it and written too much the snippet of prose on a label is great, reminiscent of a price tag but a much better read, and much more fundamental to the clothing than a price and a barcode could ever be!

Oh also, those shoes are amazing!

rachieh

wow! You just made my day, or evening as the case may be... History was my store (I closed it this past summer so i could go back to teaching) and it was great to see the idea of the tags living on! I think that your stories are delightful, racy, and wise. May all your future adventures be so stylish... xo, Rachel
