Lego Shoes

Clredoute

The oddball/random item in a collection that sticks out is sometimes a good thing.  I was ish-impressed with Christian Lacroix's first collaboration with La Redoute and then the second one rolled in and this time, I have lost my patience for all the flash drama on the animated site which again features Lily Cole skipping along amongst giant hats, feathers and down a red carpet that leads through Lacroix's funny land.  In fact looking at the clothes, I find myself clamouring after the bed linen instead.

However, amongst the kagoul capes and general festival-wear, you have these Diva sandals that come in white, black or khaki.  Quite simply, they're either the most bizarre or brilliant shoes to have come from a designer/high street collaboration.  The name of the shoe would suggest something with a stiletto, some glitter/metallic wacked on to it and maybe some delicate 'sexy' straps.  However, what we get is a chunky wedge of an affiar that has a gladiator structure at the front and most importantly, an odd Lego-block structure in the wedge at the back.  Actually, I'm finding it difficult to relate the wedge to anything but the random Lego blocks that I used to build up, making no specific shape but just because they look wicked jutting in and out.  At £135, they're far from cheap but also quite a unique prospect amongst the casual mish-mash on La Redoute.

hm the heels look interesting and you're right, they remind me a bit of lego too! i think the sandals are beautiful, for my taste the lego heels are a bit "too much" but if it wasn't for the lego heels, the sandals would look like any other sandals, so yes, basically the lego heels are a good thing ^^

awesome sandals! they almost look like some cool architecture or space-aged building... btw, i saw your lovely picture from the gucci party on the 'blogging' article on WWD last Friday :) you're appearing everywhere now!

Oh god Char-C, I look like a drunk idiot in the pic, holding a drink in a lopsided way.... a true Brit to the core...

I love those! I really love weird shoes you can put them w/ a plain boring outfit and make the whole look pop!

these are so cool! nice find

I like the fact that they are all white!!!

i need em, they are perfect shoes!! How do you decide what colour tho?

Cool, I like 'em.

I especially love the back of them. Very cool.

Hmmm...I'm not too sure what to make of these...can't say that I hate them, neither do I completely love them...it seems that shoes are the final frontier of design, getting more and more out there as the days go by.

The shoes rock. Agree with your 'pop' comment susie!

I remember seeing the Lacroix collection for La Redoute and thinking that the shoes were a real standout item but actually all their allure is in the heel, from the front they look quite ordinary. So there, now I've completely confused the issue.

I agree - this collection isn't all that however those shoes are certainly the most "out there" in terms of a high street / designer collaboration. I like em..

oooh they're strangely lovely!

Susie, if you really want these shoes, i have this discount code from La Redoute that gives u £50 off. I want em but i cant afford em but im sure u'll rock it better anyway! xoxo

o my god, love them!

i would.

did you?

They're cool, I think. I like the stark white.

lego is fantastic! i have a lego pirate on a necklace and a lego block on a ring. taking geek chic too far? maybe. awesome? yes.

those shoes are amazing.

I want to paint them :)

fab x100

i covet these shoes... for sure!

Oh these are so cool!

Now if someone would only make a shoe with an adjustable high heel for all those various terrain emergencies.

How can I buy them. Lego shoes
