My head is literally spinning from the number of designer x high street/sportswear collaborations that are out and about.... Luella for O'Neills, Giles for New Look (new collection), Jonathan Saunders for Gola, Pierre Hardy for Gap (new collection), Christian Lacroix for La Redoute... I could go on listing them and the thing is, it's getting to the point where these collaborations are neither exciting or interesting. However, a designer like Osman Yousefzada whose collections I've been following in an avid fan-girl style, doing a 10 piece, super edited, LBD collection for Mango means that at least we can expect something quite more focused and with more of a design-concentrate (I'm thinking some collections are getting to be quite watered down in manner of very weak Robinson's squash...).
The ad images are now up online and I think we have a winner... a simple addition of a peplum (left £45) and a zip and a curved cape structure (right £50) luxes up the LBD...
Then we get the cleverly placed yet sparing used of metallic additions. A flash of metallic blue (a shade that Osman favours a lot in his collections) at the bottom of this dress (the most expensive of the lot at £80) which also works the 'double skirted' shape of flouncy over pencil.
The electric blue is repeated here and is quite literally a 'flash' of blue that would swing around quite nicely.
Another signature colour of bronze is incorporated through this Cleopatra collar...
...and onto the bottom of this dress which I first saw during LFW and will definitely snap up at Selfridges when the collection goes on sale on 10th March, (nationwide from 17th March)...
(The last three dresses are all £50.... by jove, a designer collaboration that has got the pricing spot on...)

hi susie! is this collection for sale in actual mango stores in london from march 10th?! I am definitely after that first dress! :)
p.s. love the blog!

i especially love the last and fourth one
those flashes of colour seem to complete the dresses

And this is where I curse over the fact that these will never make it to Mango here...I'd definitely fork out for most of the dresses shown.

Charlie: The dresses will be available in UK Mango stores from 17th March but exclusively in Selfridges London from 10th March.... however, I haven't a clue whether international Mango stores will get the collection or not...

oh i like i like! simple but just right!
love the second and the third one!
hopefully it will be in store, i might might just dish out £50 for a dress. £50 is a lot for a student to spend on one piece of garment >_<

I wonder if they will be on sale at the MNG in the US. We have one in SF but all I've seen is the Cruz Sister's line. xx

I agree so many designer collaborations, I start to wonder whether the designers have even designed them or just put their name to them. But I love Osman Yousefzada clothes - the last two dresses are gorgeous. I don't have a Mango store near by but happened to see some gorgeous dresses in the window of the Oxford Street store when I was there a while ago (did't have time to go in) and have been dying to get to a Mango store ever since. I clicked on your link and have just realised they have an online store I never knew about. I can't believe my luck. Now I am just hoping the Osman collection is going to be available online.

This model looks like Jessica Alba's long lost twin
I really hate the Giles for New Look line, I cannot believe it is still going, the fabric is the cheapest thing ever!

thank you susie! a trip to selfridges on the 10th then it is :)

I can't wait for Adam Lippes collection for Mango in 2009 either! Apparently signed up for spring/summmer 2009 and fall/winter 2009-10!! :-)

Oh, gorgeous! I love black and white photography with one single color popping up, and that electric blue is awesome. I long for that second blue-underskirted dress (and the bronze-collared one)...
Like Ruby, I've been to MNG in SF (haven't looked for the Cruz stuff, though), but I don't know if it'll make it out here. Let's hope so!

Beautiful...wish it was available here!

I loved the peplums on skirts and dress in the mainline AW2008 collection so really keen to purchase that first dress. It has a racer back as well which makes it less occasiony wear and more sporty which I like. I can so see you in the gold dipped dress!

this is the best Mango Designers collection so far. Can't wait to see this in the stores.

Those dresses are just doll, the last one is my favor4ite and its affordable even with the dollar being at its weakest.

i'm definitely popping in, i love the blue under ruffles, it's hard to pick things though because they seem 10 times better because they're by a true designer but i have to make sure that if they weren't would i still pick them out? also looking forward to the cheapo giles collection, maybe this time i will like it!

oh my. that last one must be mine. it's got pockets! i also like the swingy one with the electric blue, but dresses with pockets win me over every time.

I haven't shopped at Mango in forever but these are gorgeous.

Wow, you find the coolest stuff!
By the way, I greatly admire your ability to post with such frequency.

I saw these elsewhere, and I'm really thrilled by them! Such great approaches to color here.

The electric blue and the black... My wallet weeps bitter tears.. It is unfortunate for me that the closest 'Mango' store in my locale is 'MNG by Mango'. Ah well. All the more reason to stay frugal!

OMG! I blogged about the 4th dress when I saw picture of it in Mango's show, it was on my shopping list for SS, but I feared it would be out of my price-range but approx. 75 euros isn't that bad. I hope the dress arrives to Finland...the rest isn't bad either (especially 3rd <3), love this collection! Personally I'd compare it to Karl Lagerfeld's H&M one, it's exciting.

I'm on the Mango mailing list and have been anticipating these dresses for a few weeks now. I really want to get my hands on the last one, I hope there's no rush to get them here in Antwerp (I'm still not fully recovered from the Cavalli for H&M stampede)

It will be hitting stores WORLDWIDE...203 stores I believe....
