oooh, I hope that *one day* is not too far off, that'd be too cool!

i just saw a picture of her at the paris shows in a get-up that screamed "got kicked off the set of heavy metal parking lot for dressing too sluttily" and was amazed that i hadn't heard of her before. she was wearing the chloe doc martens and basically looked ridiculously cramazing.

Even without the name, I'd be in love with this magazine- and it's good to see some free spirit in mags..

mmm... i love indie mags... but you know to tell the truth, i've lost it with them, blogs haven't even come close to the level of creativity in terms of styling, photography... yet.

i guess it's just a matter of time where the money can be made, and the teams can be put together to produce such a thing. i'd love to see something along these lines... or to make one. who knows?

This is in response to the negative comments you receive on your blog - I believe that it is if not jealousy then a form of jealousy. Within our little world of fashion blogs you are widely considered to be at or near the top of the ladder. Before you protest this distinction let me point to invitations from Chanel and Gucci - they don't invite just anybody. And so, as so often happens, people feel free to take shots at the pedestal because they are bitter, wondering "why her and not me?"

While this explains their attitude let me say it in no way excuses it. You are, quite apart from being an inspirational observer of fashion, a lovely person. Why should you bother to answer the questions of someone completely unknown to you (me), or write something to put on his then fledgling blog? Because you are, pardon me, just wonderful.

If I write at length it is with the eye to simply out-word all the negativity. If it is to be a battle of verbiage, then let them come. Because while it is so easy to flippantly write a harsh word, or fling a casual, caustic remark, it takes infinitely more effort to think about why you are writing those words. Hopefully these words will give people pause.

There’s no dearth of kindness
In this world of ours;
Only in our blindness
We gather thorns for flowers.

You're not jinxing it, you're putting the idea/energy out in the world so it can happen!

love this 'zine! thanks for the peek inside. Susie, your own magazine is really a (in)credible scenario! Sounds like you have a plan in the works, and if not.....go for it! There's no jinxing.....a lot of people would be happy to see you succeed :)

Thom, I think you should just marry Susie and be done with it. LOL, I jest of course!
I have the first few issues of Let Them Eat Cake but I haven't gotten one for AGES. I had no idea they'd gotten so big! It did provide a good visual feast, even though it almost verged on being amateurish, but I think that's why I liked it - it's lack of polish.

I too hope that'one day' is not too far

Eeep -- the colors make my head spin in an entirely good way. And to think I used to wear only black (not in a Goth way, just to be monochromatic, I suppose...).

In the time since I've read your blog, you've really inspired me to be open about my likes and dislikes, to try new things, and to embrace fashion for all the craziness that it is. And I can only imagine that a magazine of yours would do the same!

Cake is good, we like cake...

Wow, those are some great shots!

I wouldn't have known about this if you hadn't posted it, so thanks! I like the images.

Style Bubble in print? A logical progression me thinks!

If ever you do come out with a mag, i'd lOve 2 take fashion pics 4 it!
xx

Have to try and find this next time I go up to london. And I do hope there will be a Style Bubble magazine!

y does my comment hav sum1 elses name on it! lol

You don't have to wait. This is your magazine. And it's lovely.

Archive Notes

  • As I post so frequently, the archive is organised by week but this blog has been up and running since March 2006 so if you want to read from the ye olde beginning, just keep going back through the weeks or alternatively, go through the archives via Category.

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
