That's a great idea and looks so lovely!

You've definitely inspired me to look for and purchase more skirts (I've always been more obsessed with dresses, and it seems a tad more difficult to find lovely skirts in this day and age)...and now, since I've always had a thing for corsets and I can kind of justify it by saying that it'll make things more interesting...I must acquire one as well.

I love 98% of your looks (that I kinda compulsively check on 100 times a day.. the shame... sorry!), but this one is simply FABULOUS!!!!!! You look gorgeous! I love that black zip-up dress too... I think you know which one I mean. =)

oh, very very cool! Very smart and it looks fantastic. One just can hope it will look just as cool with the other 278. I'm not much of a skirt girl myself, neither am I a pants type of girl. This leaves me wondering what DO I wear around my button half actually?

You got your money's worth. That is a great look.

Susie this is genius. You can totally justify at least 200 of those skirts on this basis alone. K

a brilliant idea!
will deff have to give it a go as i always see interesting patterned skirts but never have the time nor patience to alter them.

I like what you've done there! It's created a really interesting shape.

i love this.

ahhh how clever! i've never thought of wearing what i would initially consider the focus point of the outfit under clothes but it's so effective and looks even better with the pleats of the skirt! hmmmm what else could you mix up... i have a freaky image of skirts under trousers in my mind haha

It looks amazing like that. Maybe I will be tempted to purchase a corset next time I see one.

The pleats make it fantastic, very well done.

Glorious idea....where is your cropped corset from though?

love the "skress"

Check out the very "now" combo of gray and yellow on that vintage piece.

hahaha, i do the same thing! But i really like the corset idea especially since I have a larger chest. when I do what you did, i tend to spend a lot of time pulling up my strapless bra but a corset should help no? too bad the boho look isn't as hot as it used to be. I have occasionally just thrown a belt around to create the waist.

Mega difference! great styling idea. You should try the corset with the skirt pulled right under the bust for a color-blocked effect.

love the corset. where is it from? for sale?hihi. beautiful floral dress by the way

I *love* this idea! Did you tuck it under the corset at the waistline as well? "Skress" is a perfectly coined term by the way! Brilliant!!

This one is great, I love the colours and pattern on it, excellent styling, looks perfect with the silver shoes. Anyway I can see how it's difficult to stop buying when something so lovely only costs 2 pounds.

ahhhh how cute!! at first look i thought it was a strapless bra with cups too huge for your boobage.. lol its soo cool!!

I adore this ensemble, very impressive. I look foward to seeing the further 278.

Great outfit creation...and I love the billowiness of the dress behind (did you leave the back of the dress untucked? I like the effect).

tucking it over really makes the bustline look really good! don't corsets hurt though?
the word 'skresses' has officially stuck in my head! :D

Great idea! I'd feel sort of insecure - what if the skirt/corset 'flops'? But I guess throwing on a jacket of sorts when you're out and about solves that problem instantly.

Great post! (:

pretty very pretty
i'm obsessed in your appearence!!

i like the effect you created here

great idea..inspiring. i'll try my way sometimes..

Thanks everyone... I'm most definitely going to experiment more with the corset under skirts...

I got my corset from Beyond Retro for £8 so it wasn't custom-fit or anything...thankfully, it fits even my teensy bust... it's also not tight at all...just right really..!
The snug fit of the corset means that whatever is tucked into it is not likely to come falling down as proven by my wearing this outfit (albeit over a grey t-shirt!) yesterday (forgot to take a pic though for SB Daily Wear...)

Right, so the number of skirts just went up to 280 so I'm beginning to undo my good work... oh dear...

can i say, brilliant?

as always, great creativity. that corset works really well. i love the print, gorgeous

LOVE IT. so creative!

ugh I hate posting onto posts that have so many responses because I know it will never get read! but anyway, I really love what you did there. I wish I was small enough bust wise to get away with the corset/bra/thing that you wear but I think the folding and tucking really makes it a lot more detailed.

This is absolutely genius! You look amazing, and that is one of the most perfect florals ever...good combination of muted and bright.

innovative, stylish, and inspiring. as always. i will definitely play around with this at home.

wow genius! i think i ought to invest in a corset top myself now! thanks for the tip x

I love this! Kudos!

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
