End of the Boom, Trotting Ponies....

Ponystep

All good things must come to an end and what an end it was complete with cheapie 2008 glasses, lots of black netting, painted triangles on faces and silver ahoy.  I'm sure most of you know by now that Boombox at the Hoxton has now come to an end as of 1st Jan 2008 and with so many broadsheets flocking to pay it tribute (Independent, Telegraph), it's gone down the familiar route of underground exposure. I can't say that I'm crying over the loss even though I did hop there one or two times but I am looking forward to Richard Mortimer's new project (fascinating interview with the man here...) which is a website dedicated to fashion and style called Ponystep, due to launch this year.  I reckon it's going to be very London-centric, not of the normal fashion ilk and will make a lot of noise.  I would gladly predict this to be a major addition to many bookmark lists.

Very intriguing! Will definitely pay attention to the pony step!! :-) BTW was totally over Boombox too! Especially Boombox Paris!!! Ugh, got so annoying!

in the future maybe boombox will be as legendary as woodstock or studio 54...feel glad you went, i wish i had!...pony step may have to be attended for sure! but then again, is it a mistake to deliberately make it 'fashionable' rather than the natural fashion explosion that happened at boombox...

Ponystep does sound intriguing... I have a feeling I will be one of those bookmarking it!

it did seem v. studio54 from what i read about it - ponystep sounds cool...

Archive Notes

  • As I post so frequently, the archive is organised by week but this blog has been up and running since March 2006 so if you want to read from the ye olde beginning, just keep going back through the weeks or alternatively, go through the archives via Category.

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
