i remember that phase very well. i was very much a nerd about it. so much that those files exceeded my music files. (not anymore though.)

I used to do that, I have a folder still on my parents computer titled 'style' though now when I look through it there a millions of images of people like Jessica Simpson. Clearly my taste wasn't too great!
Your sisters look more organised, I always feel I should save things in folders, but that takes time...

And I agree, Mischa is slowly turning into Lindsay, though it could be worse, she could be turning into Paris.

Mischa is turning into Lindsay??? I can't stand Lidsay, I'd MUCH rather she turned into Paris!!!
Anyway. My folders in my computer aren't half that organized ^^ I just cram everything into one folder and then I can't find anything, as I then have five images labelled thus (for example):
cocktaildress
cocktaildress2
cocktail_dress
cocktail.dress
cocktail-dress.
Everything's a bit untidy in my world...^^

My youngest sister's at that stage now and it's the most fun thing going shopping with her now . . .

And I still make inspiration folders on my computer! The slouchy and casual one is lovely.

I was the same with the magazine tearouts, actually, I still go through them every month and tear out all my favorite ads and editorials and keep them for later). Back at my parents house I have stuff dating back to like 1995, I'm finally bringing it to my house this week and I'm really excited to pour through it and see what I find.

Organize by style? Genius!
Unfortunately I also organize by "pink dress.jpg" and "pink dress2.jpg"! I'm totally trying this!

Such a family of fashionistas! Your parents must be very proud!

Your sister has great taste, which is really no wonder :). I think you've posted about her once before, though- I seem to remember a post about a ball or dance or something like that..

I have the folders too:) It's quite a mess in my pc but for me it seems very organized, as I find everything I need. Doesn't every girl dream of Marie Antoinette's dresses?

Wow I have the same exact pictures in my computer!!! but my folders are not even half as organized haha

That's some sisterhood. If my brother went through the folders on my computer I would ring his neck!

i also have a folder on my computer that i stuff with any clothing inspiration i can find. i wanted to make collages out of magazines too but i hate cutting all my mags up : (

i feel i should do this more often cos i can never seem to find an image when i vaguely remember it being fantastic

i have reached the age of sixteen, miss bubble, and i am in a style rut. have you ever had one? i just have no idea what to wear at the moment, and i seem to hate my whole wardrobe. i shall have to keep reading in order to recover!

Oh I'm too old school (or maybe just old) for folders on the computer. Apart from one of looks I want to rip off from The Sartorialist, I prefer the tear-out-from-magazines method. Even though I hardly ever go back to look at them!

a sigh of relief, im not the only one. but her's seems more organized.

I do that... but then I'm allowed too! I'm only 16 as it happens! Also do the tear-out thing...

that's so sweet that your sister has taken after your fashion aspirations
:)

I have to admit I do both, save photos from the internet and pages from magazines. It's to the point where I have a usb drive just for pictures and my tear sheets are not only organized by category in a, but are put in those plastic sheet protectors.
I'm a little ocd but who isn't?

Archive Notes

  • As I post so frequently, the archive is organised by week but this blog has been up and running since March 2006 so if you want to read from the ye olde beginning, just keep going back through the weeks or alternatively, go through the archives via Category.

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
