Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs? Kirsten Dunst for Miu Miu? I'm so tired of celebrities who think just because they're famous they can suddenly be a fashion designer. The only collection by a celebrity I quite like is Kate Moss for Topshop.

I don't think the clothes suit M.I.A, it looks like shes in office wear.

Agreed, those photos lack spark. Moreover, she isn't wearing it well, so to speak.

I'm keen to see the VB, because VB to me is a bit of a mutant species, unworkable in actuality (but then again so is MJ, some of the time).

ah, i love m.i.a! but you are right (ofcourse) it just doesnt have "that same energy" that she usualy oooozes, and i have seen her live and this just doesnt scream her. MORE COLOUR! still i enjoy the advert.

Marc jacobs is a genius!!!

Lovefoxx Luella? I can't wait to see that! And I adore Kirsten Dunst.

I'm surprised by how dour that second photo is. Love the first, though.

I was lucky enough to see her a month ago and would have happily paid twice the amount to jump around to her music.

And Merry Christmas!

Those trousers do not look like anything she'd wear in this lifetime...in fact, the entire suit looks out of character for her. Me no likely, she deserved better.

It looks like she's trying, but you're right, it's definitely not there. These shots are a bit more mobile than most Jurgen Teller photos, though.

M.I.A., where's the colour?

Marc Jacobs ads always make me want to go shopping....for some other designer.

this is not m.i.a at all,
and more-so, i really dislike juergens photography.

lovefoxxx for luella should be pretty cute though

As much as I love M.I.A, this campaign just doesnt suit her style and her fun character which am used to seeing, i'm really looking forward to see Lovefoxx for Luella looks like.

Also I saw a picture of VB for Marc Jacobs on http://frillr.com/?q=node/5894 its not exactly funny but I guess the fact that its VB just makes me laugh out loud, also im not sure how true it is, but apparently VB is going to be posing Naked for Marc Jacobs Charity Tshirts for ss08 which will either leave me scared and traumatised or just another hilarious moment...(I feel like such a gossip)

The grey suitpants are wicked. Really like boyish pants right now.

well, yeah...all the collection is quite boyish

Have you seen Peggy Noland's (from Kansas) new stuff for Lovefoxxx?? (She did her sequin bodysuits) Omg, I'm so obssessed! MIA and MJ - dream team!!

MIA is cool for MJ, but i know she's not rocking it everyday, She's more into JC Castelbajac...

The ads are rather underwhelming, but M.I.A. is too good.

Agreed then that these aren't exactly the most enthusiastic ads in the world...

Cate: These aren't collections that celebs have designed but celebs who are in the ads...but you're right... celeb designers don't really rock my boat either!

WendyB: Lol...

Sara: Yes I have.... reminds me of Pam Hoagg.... who also makes spangly jumpsuits!

Cyana: Indeed...she is more JCDC....

vb for marc jacobs is more than just hilarious! its just ridiculous!

its not supposed to "suit her" you think she's wearing oversized mens clothes to suit them? he's putting women in mens clothes and men in womens clothes. this ad is her wearing mens and theres the new ad with the guy wearing womens dresses.

obviously they dont "suit" the model.. its not supposed to.

Archive Notes

  • As I post so frequently, the archive is organised by week but this blog has been up and running since March 2006 so if you want to read from the ye olde beginning, just keep going back through the weeks or alternatively, go through the archives via Category.

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
