Catwalk Queen editor Gemma Cartwright was the first fashion blogger I ever met when I started Style Bubble and since then, I can only say it's been a stream of mutual loving. In their December countdown of blogs, I have shockingly, been given the number 2 position in their Top 100 Fashion and Lifestyle Blogs list (top spot went to MA-HUSSIVE Fashionista). Apparently I'm deemed to be one of 'Fashion's Big Blog Players.' Look down the list though and my ABSOLUTE favourite blogs are in positions 10-20 'Fashion's Blog Underdogs' - Mrs Fashion, Kingdom of Style, Disneyrollergirl, Cafe Mode, Daddy Likey etc etc.... these are blogs that aren't necessarily newcomers and have been blogging as long if not longer than me.
As a blog commentor and blog reader, I'd like to think that I'm on friendly blogosphere terms with the so-called underdogs. Though I take it as a high compliment, I do think it's a bit odd that I'm removed from the aforementioned blogging contemporaries and elevated to a category where I'm in the presence of REALLY shiny shiny blogs (ads, 10 posts a day, better graphic design....). I do find the idea of someone having never heard of Style Bubble stumbling onto here via Catwalk Queen's list only to find well..... a pink and green candied teeny bedroom affair that is not at all pro-looking.
Anyhow, a BIG thank you to the Catwalk Queen girls... and congrats if you made it on their December pressie of a list.... and I'll be combing through the list of 100 meticulously... (more things to add to my RSS reader...)

Hi Susie, I read a lot but never usually comment on your blog - don't know why! But just to say that I think your blog is great and it's not about the design of it or anything like that, it's your passion for what you're talking about, your creativity and your great writing that make it so fantastic.
And, you helped me just recently when I was looking for things to throw in with my brother's Christmas present and wanted to find some good men's fashion mags, remembered you'd done a post about them a couple of weeks back so went to see which would be the best for him - so thanks!

Mary: If you met me in person, you will find a perplexed/unsure look on my face. Why? Because I'm in my early 20's and I don't feel completely at ease with myself and I DO feel genuinely shocked at all the surreal things that happen relating to the blog/myself. The post was really to point out the wonderful list that CQ have compiled, and a chance to link to my blog faves and by all means if you think that is fishing for compliments then go ahead... guess our paths will never meet in real life but if you met me, I doubt you would comment the way you did...

I don't read the market-driven blogs, except for the occasional gander at a cosmetic blog, and I really only like a couple of those.
YOUR blog deserves it recognition and ranking. It's not just a great blog, it's a great community. It's SUSIE. A slicker design, more doo-dads and popping bright buttons saying CLICK ME would not be Susie.
So BIG CONGRATS from California, young lady who is wise beyond her years. Keep doin' what you do.

Susie, you rock and you so deserve every accolade you receive. I think a big reason your blog is so popular is that you are so stylish yet so humble--you have never written with undertones of "Oh my god I am so cool and dress so much better than you," and you NEVER fish for compliments. You broadcast your fashion triumphs and travails, your insecurities. It's a very brave thing to do. And you do it in some badass outfits!

As I said in my email, you are the most prolific and inspirational fashion bloggers I’ve EVER had the privilege to stumble across (and now your being spamed...looks like someone’s arrived). Your blog is perfectly designed and even if it wasn’t, your content is ALL KILLER, NO FILLER!
Age has nothing to do with it; you have an amazing catalogue of reference. I’ve worked with local Fashion Editors (around the same age as you) who have no effing idea who Claude Montana was or how influential his work was! It’s most likely said Editors are reading your site for inspiration.
