Lincoln Road Challenge

This has been the longest I haven't updated but when I say my week has been MEGA busy in Miami, I mean MEGA busy.  Alas, beaches, vintage stores and general Miami goodness has passed me by and instead, it has been shuttling back and forth between the Miami Int. Uni of Art and Design and my hotel.... they do a good clam chowder at the hotel but other than, even my food experience hasn't really been all that varied....

Last Sunday, we got a chance to go to Lincoln Road for some flea-market-ing.  Others fared better than myself because it was one of those places where if the good stuff is out on display in a prominent way, it's going to cost a pretty penny.  I did have this idea in my head that I would be amazed by $5 bags and $2 dresses.  Alas, it was not to be.  Everytime something caught my eye, the price would be less than eye-catching.  My Hong Kong bartering skills were also rather unwelcome.

However, I'm not a defeatist so tomorrow on my last day, I shall run the Lincoln Road gauntlet again and see what happens...

(For those with a few more $$$ than myself, there was a GREAT deal of vintage designer clothes and shoes ranging from old Balenciaga to Moschino skirts from two seasons ago.... then there were 'collectible' hats, jewellery and things that carried more historical worth.... neither were all that purse-string friendly..... )

Archive Notes

  • As I post so frequently, the archive is organised by week but this blog has been up and running since March 2006 so if you want to read from the ye olde beginning, just keep going back through the weeks or alternatively, go through the archives via Category.

  • It's back to ol' YouTube vids then... I'm obsessed with this track by Miike Snow... a little disturbed that these are the same guys who came up with Britney's Toxic...
