Pull them down: The Sequel

I must be the biggest clothes fidgeter in the world.  Why can't I just let things be and allow clothes to do what they're supposed to do.  Yonks ago, I liked to pull down my leggings.  Now, I'm pulling down my socks.  Well, I suppose there is a logical explanation for the latter.  In this unpredictable mess of a summer we're having in London, I decided knee high socks wouldn't be complete madness.  Until, the ker-razy traffic hit Charing Cross Road and I was getting agitated, hot and bothered.  So much so I simply had to pull down the socks over my Georgina Goodman shoes.  Except I didn't pull them down to make them all bunched up in a school uniform type way.  I pulled them down over the heel so that the sock sort of morphed into the shoe.

If I'm say feeling a little twee and coquettish in the morning with my knee high socks, the pull down works for making the shoe look a little 'aggressive'?  (odd choice of words but that's all I can think of....).  I'm have a love for ankle boots and tight mid-calf skirts at the moment and obviously I don't have ankle boots coming out of my ears so knee high socks are a poor man's substitute.

i do like the spats feel to that.

nice. susie I love you.

this is a good look for you... oh dear, i can't keep my socks together, so no spats for me.

love it! such an interesting look - but a question - do they stay put like that was you move around, or do they require (almost) constant adjustments?

Absolutly adore this look. I admit, I also pulled my tights below my ankles. But at a mere 4'11, I'm afraid I had no choice!

Good thing it looked intentionally cute.

Oh I once did that! But it was because the shoes I was wearing were too big and kept slipping off my feet as I walked. So I pulled my socks down like that to keep my shoes in place. It worked quite nicely and I thought it looked cool, lol.

Brilliant and ingenious!!

you're so great susie! i will definitely try this :D

:/ i'm worried about the sock stretching too permanently. granted, black knee-his are so prevalent you could buy them in bundles and it wouldn't matter, but for the more sheer ones, or ones you don't have in multiple stock... what about what about the stretching??? X_X. will a simple wash just shrink it back to normality?

Hey buddy! Interesting post... I just landed on your blog courtesy google. I was thinking.. you could try to put up some current news and happenings. Will make ur blog more interesting. There are many news scrollers. I know of one on http://www.widgetmate.com

My socks seem to automatically shrink back after washing.... but I wouldn't do this with delicate socks/expensive socks or anything. I find the knee-highs from Topshop withstand all the stretch and go back to shape after washing...

stealing. this. look.

VERY cute. I will do this with my patterned socks, wear them inside-out so I when I fold them over my heels they'll be all bright and cheery and awesome. And it anyone asks, I'll credit you.

Hehe...guys, there's no copyright on the sock trick... go right ahead and yank those socks down!

I love that look. Something I will definitely be trying come fall.

sooo creative. i love it.

definitely going to be trying this, really like it :)

i'm a major clothes fidgeter as well, so i really appreciate posts like this.

Loooovvve the rainbow themed heels!!! Who are they by? Or vintage?
