Ok, so the press went crazy, the people went crazy, the store was crazy and the site is still crazy. Yet amidst all this craziness, I have to say.... I'm feeling zero enthusiasm, zero desire and zero interest in the Kate Moss for Topshop collection, save for the fact that it's a fashion event that I feel duty bound to cover for the blog. I apologise for the bluntness but there it is. I looked at all the clothes carefully. I checked out the site. I held things up against me. I weighed it all up. Nope, nada, not one single thing...
However, I'd be accused of being a fashion fooligan if I didn't have anything to say on the event so here is a little video. The best part about the video for me is the song but I'll let you decide. If you do however want some super dooper coverage of all things Kate Moss for Topshop, I would head over to Catwalk Queen pronto - at least 10 posts with all sorts of fandangled video footage. If like me though, you're a bit non-plussed about it all, I say just enjoy the Simian Mobile Disco song.

i have to agree with you on this one, i think the song was the best part as well. kate barely modeled at all in the window, what a disapointment.

They really went all out with the goody bags, I heard you got a croissant at the Glasgow opening! I'm sick of all this about Kate Moss, in the papers all the time with a dubious looking nose, looking minging. Then open Vogue, shes doing every campaign going, airbrushed with that famous David Bowie toothed, open mouthed pose. People say shes effortlessly stylish. For the love of god, she's been dressed by the finest designers for years. Wouldn't we all pick up a few tips? I have nothing against her personally, SHE IS JUST A MODEL though, neither her or her clothes have ever said anything significant, ever. Just don't get me started on Sienna Miller.

I'm with you on this one, Susie. I looked at the collection preview in Vogue, I looked online. I found nothing likeable about it. Perhaps I don't think I could've even forced myself to like it, & perhaps I'm biased because I don't really think much of Kate Moss' style, but I really did think the entire collection was horrible. Horrible!
Posted by: Mimi | 02 May 2007 at 02:27
i like that white asymetrical dress but not enough to que a whole day and get into a fist fight over. i'm getting really sick of these crazy hectic shopping experiences!!
Posted by: emily | 02 May 2007 at 05:02
totally agree- the collection itself was soooo dull, more like the usual topshop blah that lingers around miserably in the dregs of their sales. I'm so sick of all the media fuss over it - but I guess it's a victory for tabloid culture. The only reason that damn woman is still 'iconic' is because she's smart enough to keep herself floating in the papers, not for any innovative contribution to fashion. Sure she looks good, but she's tall, thin and relatively pretty, so it's not exactly difficult. If she'd just retired to the cotswolds and looked after her baby girl, I'm sure she'd fade from our collective consciousness pretty quick.

*Thank you* for not being consumed with this rubbish. The clothes were barely passable...the only good thing was the white 1 armed dress...and I guarentee every club in London will have a girl in it this weekend. I will rant more on TFS.
Posted by: sprigged | 02 May 2007 at 09:31
btw, 10 seconds? People had been there for hours, she could of given them 1 full minute.
Posted by: sprigged | 02 May 2007 at 09:35
I agree with you, I just dont understand the need to all rush to Topshop to look identical plus the prices are ridiculous for a "high street" store.
Posted by: Jen | 02 May 2007 at 09:41
everything looked so cheap. too knock-offish. denim hot pants? how many girls do you know who can or should be wearing that look?
i think topshop will put a spin on and say that everything sold out in a matter of hours. but i bet you if you go back today, everyone will be in line returning the items they bought because it's falling apart. the real test will be the barney's NY reaction. i think it will flop.
Posted by: dimes | 02 May 2007 at 10:14
if it sold out, i mean I wouldn't want to buy it. Everyone is going to be wearing it!!
I couldn't do that to myself, everyone would be like "ohhhh kate moss for topshop" it would get so anoying
Posted by: l.j | 02 May 2007 at 10:18
I went to the Strand branch yesterday but the only thing I really fancied was the tattoo print kaftan dress.
I've noticed though that this dress has been selling online for £60 when it cost me only £45!
With delivery costs, it looks like online buyers are being forced to pay £20 more for the same dress. What a rip-off !!!
Posted by: meemalee | 02 May 2007 at 11:22
I'm in total agreement too. Boring! Some of the clothes are quite cute but nothing that I can be bothered to actually click on and buy - let alone queue all day to purchase. Meh. The Moss backlash has been gathering momentum for a while but it seems that there are still thousands of (brainwashed?) people out there who want to be her. Or at least dress like her.
Posted by: Mrs Fashion | 02 May 2007 at 11:31
Wow it's good to hear the whole world hasn't gone dippy over some good PR coverage. I can't believe she stayed in the window for 10 seconds - ridiculous (I heard it was going to be 2 hours). Thank you for posting the video - I love the exchange:
Girl: I'm buying because it's Kate Moss for Topshop...that sounds really shallow doesn't it?
Susie: ...and...CUT.
Posted by: CM | 02 May 2007 at 13:17
I totally agree with you - awesome music! Shame about the collection. And what was up with that 'modelling' stint for 10 whole seconds?? People queued up to see her and she only deigned to hang around for 10 seconds! Sheesh. Next time Topshop should get some REAL designers in, THEN i'd queue up for several hours to get my hands on it!
Gonna have to go find more music by that band though! It's mint!
Posted by: EllieB | 02 May 2007 at 14:03
i went to the topshop store in trafford centre , manchester and it wasn't half as chaotic in london which was quite surprising, there were hardly anyone there. i wasnt particularly impressed with any of the clothes either. i have a feeling i will be seeing alot of ppl wearing the same clothes for a while which has put me off purchasing anything from the collection
Posted by: stephanie | 02 May 2007 at 14:12
I think it's ridiculously rude to just stand there for 10 seconds in such a nonchalant way and walk off without even aknowledging the crowd.
She may be admired for being 'effortlessly cool', but that was just.....effortless.
It was like a big 'piss off...I made a load of money and now I'm leaving' to all the people who had waited there for so long.
On that note..I can't wait to see Simian Mobile Disco at the Bestival in September.
Posted by: ladyluck | 02 May 2007 at 14:46
I am with the majority, the clothes are nothing to write home about at all. But man have the media and the public gone ga ga or what? Talk about blowing things out of proportion. Now to the clothes - from what I have seen it just looks like any old tat but then I never thought she was the finest anyway. What does impress me is the marketing, it has been topnotch. I can't see the video on this browser, is it the youtube one? I find that video hilarious, I just love the way they make it look like she had a hand in designing the collection.
Posted by: Ondo Lady | 02 May 2007 at 15:47
I couldn't agree more Susie. Kate herself has been overportrayed in the fashion mags and her line is just not that hot for someone who has been in the industry for years....
Posted by: birkinbag | 02 May 2007 at 16:08
I popped over to Catwalk Queen to have a look at some of the pictures. There are links to photos of a very pretty "regular girl" wearing the red dress that Ms. Moss wore to the opening. I loved how that dress looked on Ms. Moss. The regular girl is sweet-looking, the dress looks like utter crap.
If you want to look like Kate Moss in these clothes, you have to actually be Kate Moss. Otherwise, it is just you, in some rather cheap and not terribly flattering outfits.
Posted by: catalina | 02 May 2007 at 16:19
For pete's sake. Totally ridiculous. I am with Jamie's comment too, Moss has never done anything that makes a real statement, except for maybe getting caught putting thousands of dollars of drugs up her nose. I didn't hate the line necessarily, but the chaos that went with it.
Love the blog by the way. Cheers.

i have to admit, i found the lookbook inspiring... the vest, and the black lamé dress and the white muscle dress were my personal faves. but along with everything that is super hyped, our expectaions were so high, perhaps unrealistically so. it is what it is. just clothes, true style comes from within.

Hi. My name is Paula and I’m from Portugal, that’s why I haven’t touched the new Kate Moss collection for TopShop. But I saw the site and I have to agree with you. It doesn’t ads anything new. I’m not a great fan of her, and it’s difficult for me to separate the collection from her style, I believe that was the intention, for me is equal to all we have seen for example in H&M. I was hopping to see something new and very stylish, but I was wrong. My mistake.
Posted by: Paula | 02 May 2007 at 19:29
i went to the launch in leeds as i got persuaded into thinking it would be an experience...
the majority of the clothes looked fairly cheap in real life (e.g. the black cut out dress) and there wasn't really anything that special. The black skinny jeans do fit well though.
Thought that the flowery smock was no different to the ones in primark at the moment, and the colours were too faded on it.
Posted by: sarah | 02 May 2007 at 21:19
i totally agree.. i think its just a joke how everyone is just creating thier own fashion lines with this brands. im all for karl lagerfeld, viktor and rolf, stella mcartney, giles deacon! reaaaaaal designers but madonna and now kate moss! its juse becoming a j o k e
Posted by: wafa | 02 May 2007 at 22:05
I have to agree. There's nothing in this collection that remotely "wow". It's a complete bore and way over hyped. I couldn't even watch the entire video.
cool song, though.
Posted by: nicole | 02 May 2007 at 22:49
WOW. great video! Very informative and complete coverage!
Posted by: Moxie | 02 May 2007 at 23:16
Oh dear, it's not looking good is it?! Well, I thought the pics on the website and what I'd seen in magazines made the clothes look cheap but still wanted to see them in real life. Managed this morning at Oxford Circus. The clothes look better quality in the flesh but still didn't appeal. As others have said, imagine how annoying to have your clothes be that identifiable! BUT, Philip Green has certainly done well out of it, I'm sure KM has earnt her £3million fee in PR alone.
Posted by: Rollergirl | 02 May 2007 at 23:57
Well, at least Moss' collection was 3773837 times better than Giles Deacon's for New Look.
Posted by: Elli | 03 May 2007 at 00:22
oh god..everybody else just waited for Kate. however, she just posted for 10 secs? what a crap?! why so many people are crasy about her?! she is not that chic...anyway!
Posted by: chiseenjai | 03 May 2007 at 04:26
Yes. Much as I have always admired Kate Moss's style, and actually like her as a model, I didn't see much I liked in the collection, despite being able to get on the site and buy some of the clothes. As for Kate Moss being in the window for 10 seconds, well, I'm glad I got to see her in a window in Singapore when I saw her lying out on a couch in a hair salon. That was definitely more than 10 seconds!
Posted by: christine | 03 May 2007 at 05:08
quite glad i didn't come home to brave the scramble, espec since the only piece i thought looked good - the white dress - isn't available for two weeks... sigh.
Posted by: cassiopeia | 03 May 2007 at 08:39
o my goodness you have such a cool voice! generally, kate moss doesn't interest me that much, and i'm kinda surprised that they have a collection around her, when it seems to me that her celebrity status has peaked and now she's on the way out. and, as others have said, that was just plain rude staying for 10 seconds. it gave an awful impression of her.
Posted by: julia | 03 May 2007 at 11:09
love that song
Posted by: f&art | 03 May 2007 at 13:01
i love your voice too. how do i actually forget you are english? and your coverage was great. really brought the hype down to earth. i can't believe her lack of action in the window.
Posted by: SwanDiamondRose | 03 May 2007 at 20:41
the music rocks...but kate for topshop? nah dnt fink so id rather not look like the whole of my school thank u very much.
girl from my school: omg i luv kate shes like my idol omehgod she has cool clothes, takes drugs and gets away with it she rocks
me: such an inspirin woman for girls like yourself your dress is luvly by the way *COUGH* *COUGH*
Posted by: liz | 03 May 2007 at 21:00
i agree with many above, kate's collection was perhaps unsurprisingly disappointing.already in manchester ive seen several girls wearing the floral dress and very uninspiring they looked. i was aslo frankly appalled by her enduring love for cropped waistcoats. i did, however, enjoy the giles deacon 'gold' collection for new look far more.
Posted by: | 03 May 2007 at 21:58
I went on the 1st of May. Totally disappointed by the whole collection. Nothing fit right, nothing looked right, and for that money, no way!!!Must say hot croissant MUST have been the highlight!
p.s. the girl with red hair on the end looked so familiar...I realised almost towards the end that I have worked with her on a shoot :), small world
Posted by: | 03 May 2007 at 22:52
hi, may i know what song you used for that vid? sounds like its from new young pony club ;)
Posted by: chloe | 04 May 2007 at 14:56
Chloe, the song is 'It's the Beat' by Simian Mobile Disco - it says so at the end of the video :)
Posted by: susie_bubble | 04 May 2007 at 15:00
I mean it is absolutely ridiculous that people are so blinded by her fame that they cant see how blah blah blah the clothes are. also they are exact rip offs of clothing that she has been famous for wearing! for example, the one shoulder white lacey dress...AN EXACT REPLICA OF THE YELLOW CHLOE SHIFT SHE WORE A COUPLE YEARS BACK! so silly.
Posted by: EMMA | 04 May 2007 at 20:08
i was..really not excited. And I'm still not. Booyah tabloids, i beat you before you started.
Posted by: lloydy/the alien | 05 May 2007 at 09:04
Dull dull dull. I had no interest to wait in line, get up early or fight anyone for any of the pieces.
Myself and a friend had a look round the Edinburgh branch yesterday and apart from quite liking the mustard yellow jeans, laughed at the badly made dresses in anorak material, and the long shapeless skirts.
The best thing was maybe the tatoo floaty dress with the scary bird guys but other than that and the yellow jeans....nada.
I didn't even like the way they had the floaty dress displayed with a huge brown cowboy style belt with little gold horses and studs round the waist of the mannequin. Blargh! xx
Posted by: Becky | 05 May 2007 at 11:32
shes a greedy model thats what she is. i used to really like her till shes in every possible magazine that you can buy and all i see is her face. blarghh.
not interested to spend £195 on a dress too when i can get a £3 pound one in Oxfam.
Love the blog as always Sussie.Hope you're well.

Corporate finance is an area of finance dealing with the financial decisions corporations make and the tools and analysis used to make these decisions. The primary goal of corporate finance is to maximize corporate value while reducing the firm's financial risks. Although it is in principle different from managerial finance which studies the financial decisions of all firms, rather than corporations alone, the main concepts in the study of corporate finance are applicable to the financial problems of all kinds of firms.
The discipline can be divided into long-term and short-term decisions and techniques. Capital investment decisions are long-term choices about which projects receive investment, whether to finance that investment with equity or debt, and when or whether to pay dividends to shareholders. On the other hand, the short term decisions can be grouped under the heading "Working capital management". This subject deals with the short-term balance of current assets and current liabilities; the focus here is on managing cash, inventories, and short-term borrowing and lending (such as the terms on credit extended to customers).
The terms Corporate finance and Corporate financier are also associated with investment banking. The typical role of an investment banker is to evaluate investment projects for a bank to make investment decisions.

BigDog is the alpha male of the Boston Dynamics family of robots. It is a quadruped robot that walks, runs, and climbs on rough terrain and carries heavy loads. BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. BigDog's legs are articulated like an animal’s, and have compliant elements that absorb shock and recycle energy from one step to the next. BigDog is the size of a large dog or small mule, measuring 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75 kg weight. More>>>
