Little Miss UPS

  • **NOTE** Unfortunately I am no longer able to offer Little Miss UPS because of my new job and because a lot of sites are offering international shipping now... hope those that used the service were satisfied!

I can't see someone being twenty-two or under and not go thrifting. It is pretty much the only place left for unique yet acessible (re: affordable) things these days.

Fashion/style is a funny old thing, because even if a person only shops in charity/vintage stores looking for one-off pieces to try and avoid looking like everyone else, there are millions of other girls doing exactly the same and so they all end up looking like Girls Who Shop In Charity Shops (I shop in charity shop too by the way, so I'm not dissing girls who do this). Bizarrely, by trying to do their own unique vibe they look like others trying to achieve the same thing! I love Chloe's Sevigny's quote as it's so true.

I really adore those style-personality collages! I've always loved to dress up as different characters when it comes to clothes. This book really might be worth the investment, if even just for the inspiration

Hi Susie,

just to let you know that I've tried to access Says the Asian Leprechaun from your link a few times and it's not working. I tried from Google too but think her blog is down.?

good vibes to ya.

Blue Floppy Hat

Oooh, this seems fun- style therapists (or so they say) being too strict about What To Wear always annoys me.
I happen to BE twenty-two and I still go thrifting for pretty, cut-price things. I think everyone does, unless their parents are rich- and sometimes even then :)

susie_bubble

Ah... I forgot Says the Asian Leprechaun is no more - you can't even read her archives! I will take the link down....

Looks interesting. I know what you mean by the style guides, they do strike me as rather odd.

saucybetty

Any "style guide" that names Anita Pallenberg as a fashion icon has my total respect and esteem. Guess I gotta check the book out.

Lucy-Jane

I feel a similar kind of thing when I read fashion guide books. They are less guide books than pats on the back for me, because they preach everything that I believe in.

very penetrating posting.

I'll check out that guide book, thanks!
