Feel the power of the Kane

It's official.  2007 will be THE year of the designer for high street collaboration.  So many to look forward to and save up for.  There's the spring roster of designers for Uniqlo, the New Look collection Giles Deacon is doing and another H&M designer collaboration frenzy to dread/look forward to.  The latest shocker though (and it is truly surprising since I had no idea this was in the pipeline...) is that Christopher Kane, whose spring summer collection of elaborate neon dresses practically justifies the neon trend in all the glossy spring summer catwalk trend roundups, has designed a capsule collection for Topshop.  I suppose I should have seen it coming what with Kane's catwalk show being sponsored by Topshop New Generation.  Vogue has reported the lush (I'm convinced it will be lush so just go along with it!) collection to consist of pleated chiffon dresses in delicate tea, blush and grey shades, with neon zips and will be priced from £110 - a considerable reduction on the £1000 plus price tag on his actual collection which I believe is now on sale in Browns.  The Topshop collection goes on sale at the Oxford Street branch on February 9th, just before the start of London Fashion Week.  I don't mean to gush or yip around in excitement or go along with the hype train - actually, yes, I do mean to do all three of those things therefore...... I'm 100% there.  You will find me queuing outside those Topshop doors in my 'Cum Again, Christopher Kane' neon t-shirt....

Oh, that is so exciting! I'm going to be first in line...

where did you get that shirt??

The shirt was a Christmas present (as a joke because I liked the Kane collection so much...!) but I think my friend said she nabbed the last one from Dover Street Market as the neon one is a limited edition shirt...

YAY!

PS. I LOVE DEAD DISCO!

i'd like to see this come to the glasgow topshop but i doubt it will.

i do know that the giles deacon collection should launch march 13th.

Hey ya. Where can I buy those t-shirts? I want the Alexander McQueen one!!

Hey Brendan, you're in the UK so you can buy the McQueen one in Urban Outfitters.

if only stephen sprouse were alive to capitalize on all these trends! he would have fit right in (again) and im sure he would have made some amazing pieces

by trends i mean skinny legs, tights, neon, etc etc... bring on the grafitti print

^Quite right Lane...quite right....
I would love to see some sort of neo-grafitti trend going on... something less literal than it was first time round...

Do you know if they'll be available online?

its online now! i'm so excited, just got the grey sweatshirt, the marios schwab collection is looking good too!
happy shopping.
