It's official. 2007 will be THE year of the designer for high street collaboration. So many to look forward to and save up for. There's the spring roster of designers for Uniqlo, the New Look collection Giles Deacon is doing and another H&M designer collaboration frenzy to dread/look forward to. The latest shocker though (and it is truly surprising since I had no idea this was in the pipeline...) is that Christopher Kane, whose spring summer collection of elaborate neon dresses practically justifies the neon trend in all the glossy spring summer catwalk trend roundups, has designed a capsule collection for Topshop. I suppose I should have seen it coming what with Kane's catwalk show being sponsored by Topshop New Generation.
Vogue has reported the lush (I'm convinced it will be lush so just go along with it!) collection to consist of pleated chiffon dresses in delicate tea, blush and grey shades, with neon zips and will be priced from £110 - a considerable reduction on the £1000 plus price tag on his actual collection which I believe is now on sale in Browns. The Topshop collection goes on sale at the Oxford Street branch on February 9th, just before the start of London Fashion Week. I don't mean to gush or yip around in excitement or go along with the hype train - actually, yes, I do mean to do all three of those things therefore...... I'm 100% there. You will find me queuing outside those Topshop doors in my 'Cum Again, Christopher Kane' neon t-shirt....
