A contrast of materials...

Remember a while ago when I experimented with some PVC leggings that I got from a sex shop, pretty successfully.  On a practical level though, now that it's finally frosty cold, the sweat factor won't be so bothersome so how to wear in real life without giving a very very wrong impression (let's not go there....).  I've been wearing them loaded up with knits and scarves.  The very soft with the very tough.

Short sleeved chunky cardigan, vintage sheer blue slipdress, vintage customised blue skirt, vintage black scarf, Dorothy Perkins black satin ruched belt, Laden Showroom black velcro strap flats // Black wool poloneck w/front stripe, vintage white silk t-shirt, Ben Sherman black and white checked coat worn round waist, Sergio Rossi black and white patent wedges

Vintage customised Ralph Lauren poloneck, Muji grey silk sweater draped around neck, hand knitted multi-coloured scarf, All Saints cream skirt w/ oversized pockets, Shelleys metallic striped platforms // Primark blue t-shirt, Moschino Cheap & Chic grey cotton bustier, vintage beige cashmere sweater tied round waist, handknitted brown scarf, blue patent flats

Vintage cream crochet skirt worn as dress, Schwipe black chain print leggings draped around neck, vintage black and white shawl, vintage silvery white gloves, Capparos gold sequin flats, black croc belt // Vintage patterned oversized shirt w/ velvet collar and cuffs, vintage checked wrap skirt, Mint for Uniqlo grey shirt/scarf, Yves Saint Laurent taupe platform shoes

Vintage red and black patterned sweater, vintage blue silk jacket, Urban Outfitters obi belt, United Colours of Benetton red chain scarf, navy beret, Faith brown brocade wedges // H&M grey sweater dress, Zara light grey knitted tie-front top, Scotch House tartan scarf worn as shrug, wooden beads, Carvela tan flat boots

I really LOVE these looks... I've been looking for leather leggings but I think something along these lines is what I'm going to have to settle with. I know Topshop made some less high maintenance ones, but I'm not sure where I can get them over here... (I'd rather not have to go through the whole routine..)

I really adore the outfit with gloves. It blends the elegance of them with the roughness of the leggings.

I tried to look for the chain scarf at Benetton, but I can't find it. I love your blog.

I looked for the chain scarf in Benetton, but no sucess.
I love your blog :]

I have been reading your blog on and off since you started it up, and I must say these looks are by far some of your most inspiring outfits pictured here. The layering isn't forced like some bric-a-brac dressing has become since layering became the ultimate trend this fall. The leggings are a sensation!

loves it!!
just my personal opinion? you could also try them with maybe something really girly(as in sweet, not sexy) along with all those soft knits. like a vintage lace dress, some bulky knits and those "sex" leggings...and maybe with a nice warm wooly hat as well....like those marc jacobs runway kind...but that might make you too hot...

was just browing netaporter and remembered that you had wanted these. So they're on sale now...

Love all the looks Susie. I mean, you should really really work as a stylist.

Awesome. Love the 1st and the last one = P Gosh you're a layering expert *o*

I love the last 4, especially the ones with crocheted tops.

The gloves make your outfit look so refined! That's gotta be my all-time favorite so far, and you've come up with a lot of really cool outfits.

Is that you shoting yourself? I have to say boy you are good...

Anne

That's very clever, and it looks so good on you!

These looks are great! I love the layers and the vynil leggings add an edge to it. Really cool!

lovely! but aren't they uncomfortable?

LOVE the look with the chain scarf. This is one of my favorite recent entries of yours.

thanks for adding me & i never thought PVC trousers would go with all that. u certainly opened up my eyes today. Although Buffy used to wear PVC red trousers all the time. How much was it in the Sxx shop?

I revere your whims.

i very mucha like the last one. maybe because i have the same sweater dress. hehe and the first ones very cute too.

^Was that a sly dig? Ho hum...hilarious....

I really like the looks you've created using the pvc leggings. They're like leather leggings, except for not being leather, lol. Looks like I'm gonna have to make a trip to the local sex shop ;) .
