Links Warning!

  • The links list just grows and grows and it has got to the point where there are now too many links. Unfortunately, I am unable to add anymore as the page length is running out unless it's something exceptionally good. To free up space, I'll be cleaning up my links if the blog isn't updated in over a month or it's not updated that often, I shall be deleted links because the list is just... so... long isn't it?

Bling that isn't Blingin'

I really should be doing the right fashion thing and reporting on the haute couture shows that have been going down a storm in Paris but fashion-savvy folk that you are will probably have read all about it at 99 other blogs so I'll leave the commentary to the pros.  However, I did pick up on the trompe d'oeil (if you're sick of me yapping on about the trompe - please shout!) fake bling going on at Jean Paul Gaultier's couture show.  Only Gaultier could make a fake twinkling gem work on a dress.

Why encrust your dress with the real thing and risk looking like a Swarovski-clad Paris Hilton when you can wear bling with a bit of tongue and cheek.  On the jeweller front, there's also non-blinging bling options.   Danielle Maveal has designed just about the coolest ring I've seen in a while.  It's the fake diamond ring but not the kind you think...

This sterling silver ring can be customised with different coloured acryclic centres and at $90 is well worth it for a conversation piece of jewellery.

There are also matching necklace and earrings.

The rest of Danielle's modern and humourous jewellery is sold at Etsy (I think I'm going to have to trawl through this site with an eagle eye - I may never have to leave the house to go on a physical lookout for up and coming designers!).

I love Etsy, it is a great place to find nifty things! I have bought so many necklaces from there!

nice! these are perfect for me. i am a diamond freak, but i really just like the idea and image of them, not the real thing.

this reminded me of fred flare's transparent diamond- shaped laser-cut plexiglass rings that are sold on the website for $8. I really like the simplistic (and cheeky) design of both though. :)

I hadn't heard of Maveal before- the stuff is very cool. Check out Jennifer Kellogg as well. I've been a fan of her "diamond" pieces for a while. www.jenniferkellog.com
I especially love the 3 diamond pendant. She used to do some dangling diamond earrings as well, which I have, but it looks like they're no longer in the collection.

Hi ya, we have some pretty orginial designs at our website that you might like, and have a sense of humour. Do check out Tatty Devine( from london) Horse and Carriage necklace in Gold. www.lartichaut.com

Little Miss UPS

  • **NOTE** From now until Jan 2008, I unfortunately will not be able to take any more Little Miss UPS orders as I quite literally have no time to run to the post office unless I hire a dogsbody to do it for me.... forgive me and I promise everything will be resumed come January!

Just to reiterate an earlier post I am now offering to purchase items from the UK to ship internationally for those of you that covet something Brit-tastic.  I can even, time permitting, buy stuff in-store in London depending on how specific you are with what you want.  Here's how it works:

    1) Pick/Choose what you want to buy - email me with the request.  I will check availability and work out shipping costs and tell you the grand total.

    2) You Paypal me the money first and then I will order/purchase the items requested.

    3) Once I receive the items, I will then ship to you straight away = happy days!

Here are some British-based sites that are iffy about shipping abroad:

Topshop Though they now ship to the USA! , ASOS, Dorothy Perkins, Kurt Geiger
